Why Not Right Now?: A 5-Day Devotional by Jesus Cultureಮಾದರಿ
"FAITH FOR IT"
Written by Derek Johnson
“I will bless the Lord at all times,” David declares in Psalm 34. What would the circumstances you are facing look like if you were determined to bless the Lord at ALL times? As followers of Christ, I believe it’s crucial that worship and praise become non-negotiables in our walk. That each of us settles in our heart that we are a people of faith, who trust in the breakthrough, provision, mercy, and providence of the Lord, regardless of how things may look in the moment. Abraham, Moses, Joseph, David, the Apostle Paul, and the list goes on: all had moments of faith, believing in Who God said He was in spite of their present difficulties.
Disappointment and frustration war against our song of praise. When things don’t happen like we planned, when challenges arise that rattle our trust in the Lord; can we still BLESS HIS NAME AT ALL TIMES?
I’ve personally discovered that, after walking with the Lord for many years, it’s in the darkest, most disappointing and fearful moments that I need to praise the most. It’s where my faith becomes very real. It’s where the peace and presence of God meet my small, mustard-seed-like faith. When I’ve made the choice to praise the Lord, and declare His Goodness and faithfulness in the midst of a storm, I’ve seen the Lord meet me time and time again. It aligns my heart with His heart and gives me a perspective very different from my own. Instead of focusing on what hasn’t happened, when I begin to praise and worship, I suddenly see the fingerprints of God’s grace everywhere in my life.
Today I would invite you to draw a line in the sand in your own life. Today, commit yourself to be a person of praise. As you read this verse today and listen to the song “Faith For it”, let it refresh your praise, and your song, and your trust in the Lord. Let us be a people that BLESS THE LORD AT ALL TIMES.

About this Plan
Jesus Culture Music presents a 5-day devotional plan based on its album, “Why Not Right Now?" to remind you that what God has done throughout history, He can still do today. Join Chris Quilala, Bryan & Katie Torwalt, Chris McClarney, Banning Liebscher, and Derek Johnson as they share the meanings and verses behind the songs. If we've seen God do it before, then why not right now?
