The Mystery of Worshipಮಾದರಿ
After a quick tour through King David, let’s go back to King Jehosaphat. Today, I would like to highlight the last preparation element of war: worship (2 Chronicles 20:18).
“Then Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell down before the Lord, worshiping the Lord.”
After God spoke what Judah should do, they could not do anything else but worship God. No, they did not start to praise or pray with a worship band. It is a moment of surrendering, dedication, and obedience to God. It is the moment of making the choice to follow God's plan, to dedicate yourself to it, and to trust Him fully, according to what He spoke.
And this is what worship is.
And it is also what makes a worshipper a true worshipper - every day again making the choice to live a life like God asks of you. And that is not always easy. So for today, I would like to encourage you:
Do you want to be a true worshipper? Choose today (and tomorrow, and the day after that, et cetera) to follow God’s plan in everything, to dedicate yourself to Him, and to trust Him fully according to what He spoke. 🤲
And yes, I would like to come back to praise. It is very simple: Praise turns into worship when you say: “God, You are good” despite your circumstances. At that moment, you choose to believe so and surrender yourself to that. Simply singing songs, the misconception, is not what worship is. But just like Jehosaphat prays and praises in the middle of his circumstances, that is the true meaning of worship.
