Show Me Your Glory 5 Day Devotional

DAY 1 OF 5

Moses had many amazing encounters with God.

We pick up the story here as Moses is again before the Lord, and they are discussing his forthcoming travel plans. The Children of Israel have already experienced an incredible escape from the Egyptians, manna delivered from Heaven and water supplied from a rock. They have seen Moses go up the mountain and receive the Ten Commandments, and accept the covenant. Despite all of these miracles, they have made themselves a golden calf to worship and have complained continuously along the journey. It is incredible to see in this passage of scripture that even when they were behaving badly, God remained a covenant-keeping God. He will always hold up His side of the agreement and continue to keep His promises throughout the generations.

This land that the Israelites were travelling to— one flowing with milk and honey that they would get to call their own— was first promised to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, generations before. Our Heavenly Father keeps His Word and fulfils His promises according to His perfect timing. This should stir such confidence and reassurance within us, His children. We see time and time again throughout the Bible that when God says He will do something, He will certainly do it! He will never leave us nor forsake us. He will keep His covenant with us, and we WILL experience the greatest promise He ever made: salvation, healing and eternal life through His Son, Jesus!

Prayer

Father,

Today I am reminded of Your promises to me. I am so thankful that You keep Your promises and fulfil Your Word. Today I ask for that understanding to resound within my heart, bringing peace and reassurance to me. Give me the strength to walk through life knowing that You are always with me and because of that, I can boldly walk into my future knowing that it will be good.

In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
