Beyond Belief

DAY 8 OF 28

There are some stories in the Bible that are just wild. The characters and situations seem larger than life. They might leave us with questions about how things work, or whether a situation really is possible. When we have those questions, we might wonder what to do with them.

If you've ever wondered if you could ask questions about your faith, you're in good company. When God called Moses to lead Israel, Moses already had a pretty sketchy past. His past led to him feeling insecure about his own capabilities. He often wondered if God would ever regret making him the guy who would lead his people out of slavery in Egypt. When Moses doubted God, he showed us how we can respond when we have our own doubts.

Moses asked questions, and whenever he did, God responded. Moses may not have gotten all of the in-depth responses he wanted, but over and over, God promised to never leave his side. Moses' doubts and questions help us see how God makes space for our questions and welcomes us to ask them freely.

So when you find yourself full of questions and wondering what to do with them, remember you can take them to God. You can ask God about the things you have a hard time believing. When you doubt, it's okay to ask questions.
