Faith & Love: A One Year Bible Reading Plan - Part 7ಮಾದರಿ

As we read through Hebrews, we learn that the author wants to draw the hearts of his audience towards Christ and Christ alone. We can assume that the audience was tempted to go back to old religious patterns where it was all about the Old Covenant, which was imperfect and only temporary. Therefore, they could never be sure if their own godliness would be enough.
The author now draws their attention again and again to Jesus: Look, God has started something completely new in Jesus! The old religious system of pious performance no longer exists!
We have a new priest. A better priest. A final priest. An eternal priest.
A priest stands between God and man. A priest guarantees that the chasm between God and man, caused by the sins of man, disappears.
Our verse today emphasizes that the priest God provided will never be replaced, will never fail, and will never die.
This is because the priest is Jesus himself. He who was and is and ever will be.
Your new life with God is based on the perfect sacrifice of a perfect eternal priest. By faith, you come to Him. By faith, you are under his protection.
What does our verse say? “The Lord will not change his mind!” Once you come to Jesus by faith, He will be your priest forever.
How about starting this day with a prayer of thanksgiving? Let us thank our Priest Jesus for His service, His love, and faithfulness.
