A Kid's Guide To: Knowing God Is Always Good

DAY 1 OF 6

When People Fail

Our God, from your sacred home you take care of orphans and protect widows. You find families for those who are lonely.
Psalm 68:5–6a (CEV)

The prettiest girl. The most popular guy. The best athlete. The smartest kid. We all want to be chosen by the best—to be on their team, to be seen with them, to benefit from their status, to be thought of in the same way they are.

Well guess what? The God of gods and Lord of lords, the great and awesome one, has chosen you! He wants you to be his daughter or son—to be part of his family!

Sometimes life can be lonely as you figure out where you belong in school, in a group of friends, even in your family. The good news is no matter where you are, God is there. He walks into every situation before you. When you are by yourself, he is beside you. He listens to you. He cares about you. He loves you because he has made you his child.

Because people are human, sooner or later they will fail you. They won’t say the right thing, or be at the place you need them, or be strong enough or wise enough to be able to help you. But God never fails his chosen children.

So don’t ever forget who you are—a child of the living God!

SPIRITUAL FITNESS TRAINING

Because you are part of his family, God invites you into his home. On some paper or in a journal, write out some great things about being part of the family of God.

PRAY

Lord, thank you for choosing me! Help me to remember your love when I feel lonely.
