Anything Is Possible: How Nine Miracles of Jesus Reveal God's Love for You

DAY 8 OF 9

Day 8: The Empty Tomb

In John 20 we see the miracle of all miracles. As the disciples stepped into the tomb that glorious morning, they did not find the body of their beloved Jesus, but rather His grave clothes.

One cloth, in particular, pointed to something much bigger than they could have imagined. Jesus’s face cloth was folded up and set to the side. It seems odd that after Jesus conquered death that He was concerned about folding up His linens, but this was not some house chore. It was Jewish custom to fold up your dinner napkin and place it in view of the servant when you were leaving the table but not done yet, it was a sign that you would return. Jesus is telling His disciples and us that He will return one day in all His glory and gather those who have believed in Him. Not just believe THAT He lived, died and rose, but believe IN.

Believing THAT and believing IN are two very different things. You can believe that a chair can hold up your body weight, but unless you go from standing to sitting in it then you don’t believe in the chair.

Jesus calls us to believe or trust (with all our doubts and sorrows) that He is who He says He is.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the greatest miracle of all time. God Himself came in the flesh and lived the life we couldn’t and died the death we all deserve. He endured the wrath of God for us and conquered death. If this is true, then imagine what He could do in your life. If the tomb is empty...anything is possible.

So, what in your life needs resurrecting? Who in your life needs to believe IN Jesus? Bring those prayers to Jesus.
