Divine Unionಮಾದರಿ
The power of living aware of our union with Christ is an absolute key to thriving and bearing fruit in every season. Jeremiah 17:8 says, “He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.”
Fruitfulness is something that happens in every season because we are connected to the One who is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is the epitome of consistency and stability. Notice in Jeremiah 17:8 it says, “and is not anxious in the year of drought.” The opposite of anxiety is knowing. We become anxious when we don’t know. If we knew, we wouldn’t be anxious. Philippians 4:6 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” One of the best things we can ask God when we feel anxiety is, “What part of your nature do I need to know right now?” We can be anxious about nothing when we know who our Father is. As we factor God into every situation, we flow from friendship with Him, and thus, thanksgiving becomes a life skill that opens the possibilities of heaven in and around us.
John 15:5 says, “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” A branch doesn’t produce fruit, the tree does. A branch simply bears the fruit that the tree is producing. It’s not even our job to produce fruit. We simply bear the fruit that is consistently flowing from the divine source known as Jesus Christ. The more aware we are of our union with Him, the more fruit will manifest, even by what seems to be an accident. His world is defined by abundance and never experiences cutbacks, layoffs, or recessions in any measure. His world is glory to glory, faith to faith, strength to strength, and brighter and brighter. From this place of over-abundance, we live our lives.
This destroys the need for perfectionism, which is an expression of self-hatred. The echo chamber of perfectionism announces we are not enough, and we are not doing enough. We are to live and build from the seat of rest found only in our good and loving Father. From His rest, we govern creation and produce from His purpose. Hustle culture is not Kingdom culture. We can accomplish more when it flows from our divine union with Christ than we could ever apart from this awareness.
Find yourself today in God’s rest. Be at peace in your mind, knowing who He is to you, for you, and through you.
Speak Up: Declaration
I have been created to thrive and bear fruit in every season. I am connected to the Source, which means I don’t carry the burden of producing fruit, but simply bearing it. My Father is consistent and stable, and I have been brought into this reality via my union with Him. I don’t need to be anxious when I know who my Father is. I let go of perfectionism and embrace the rest of God. This place of rest is a weapon against darkness, and I wield it today. I can accomplish great things because I am drawing upon an eternal supply found in the life and mind of Jesus Christ.
