Preparing for the Power of Pentecostಮಾದರಿ
There are pivotal moments in the life of any follower of Christ where we need to pause and reflect. We need to remember what Christ has done. We need to be still. We need to recount His faithfulness.
This is all the more true for leaders.
As Acts begins, Luke tells us of the current state of the Apostles. He recounts how after the resurrection, Jesus presented Himself to the Apostles. It was at this moment that Jesus took the time to make two things clear: the resurrection and the mission. When was the last time you reflected on the majesty of the resurrection? When did you last meditate on the mission God has given to you?
As leaders longing to experience Pentecost power, we must remember the resurrection and engage in the mission.
Jesus understood the importance of focusing on the power of the resurrection. When persuaded of the power of the resurrection, you believe Jesus can change the world. Convinced of His power to overcome death, you believe He can change you. With a conviction of His power, you believe He can use you to fulfill His mission. If you want to experience power like Pentecost, you must remember the resurrection.
During that same time, Jesus spoke about the "Kingdom of God." As a Christian leader, you must aim to cast the vision for Kingdom impact. You must seek to lay before your team the Kingdom impact of their work. This is especially true for volunteers. When we fail to build the connection between their actions and the growth of the Kingdom, they feel it. Jesus spent His final days building their focus toward the Kingdom of God. Likewise, if you want your team to experience power like Pentecost, you must engage in the mission.
Action Steps:
Pray that God would help you to reflect on the resurrection and its impact on your life. Pray that God would help you see how to inspire others with the power of the resurrection.
