DAY 10 OF 11

Holy Ground

When a new home is built, and the homebuyers move in, it’s easy to double-tap the photos on Instagram and comment on how beautiful the new space is. After all, the hard work has been done, and the fun part of shopping at Home Goods for decor items begins.

But perhaps the more exciting and most important, albeit much less glamorous, part of building a home is when you break ground. It’s when the machinery comes in to dig holes for the foundation and plumbing and where the boundary lines are marked out. When the carefully drawn plans start to become a reality, the dwelling becomes more than a concept and transforms into a space where memories are created, and dreams are fulfilled.

And so it is with us. God has mandated us to take ground. Our goal is to take possession of the land and claim it as holy ground, where we see the promises of God go from a blueprint to a building.

God has proven his faithfulness time and time again. He’s called us out of the darkness and into His wonderful light. He set us apart as His chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation. And now He’s calling us to break ground and hold onto His promises, knowing He will see it through.

Takeaway challenge: What new ground do you need to claim? What area is God calling you to break ground on? Write it down and use the lyrics of "Ground" to build faith as you take new holy ground.

"I won’t give up, I won’t give in
I hold onto every promise, I know you’ll see it through
No turning back, my eyes on you
Cause if You’re not done then I’m not done taking holy ground."

About this Plan

Genesis

The old life has gone, and Genesis marks the new days we now live out. Jesus is our present-day confidence that we have victory over all things. We can now live each day in communion with Christ as originally intended in Eden and bring heaven to earth through God’s power living in us.
