Hide Me Prayer Guideಮಾದರಿ
Under Your Shadow
Big Idea:
In Hebrew, the word ison most simply refers to “blackness” or “darkness.” The phrase ison bat ayin literally means “the blackness of the eye.” The pupil, or “little man,” refers to the dark circle at the center of the eye. Although this is one translation, another defines this Hebrew word as “the daughter of the eye.” This translation is derived from a usage of the Hebrew word “daughter” as denoting that which is dependent or connected. The pupil or little man also references a child, and it is the most carefully guarded port of the eye, even more, protected than the outer portions of the eye by virtue of its position, and similarly to the pupil in the eye, a child needs special protection.
“Hide me in the shadow of Your wings” refers to a mother bird shielding her young from danger by hiding them under her wings. This meaningful figure of speech is expressed throughout the book of Psalms (Ps. 36:7, 57:1, and 63:7), and in Matthew 23:37, Jesus used this illustration to express His love for Jerusalem. David’s request from Psalm 17:8, then, is for God to put His love on display by protecting him. Together, these two phrases are powerful pictures of God’s love for His people. That same love and protection are extended to you.
Reflection:
Today, as the apple of God’s eye, we are reminded that God’s love for us is not conditional because his love is steadfast (Lam. 3:21-33). God’s love is never-ending and does not hinge on our actions or inactions. So call on Him and ask Him to hide you under His shadow.
Personal Reflection:
Take time today and read Lamentations 3:21-33.
Prayer:
Lord, please lead us today to think about Your protection. You protect us and arrange our lives so that we may grow in You. We humbly pray for protection from the enemy, so please cause the enemy to flee. Help me remember to call on You, for you are a present help, and remind me to lean into your strength and open my eyes and heart to Your love. Thank You, Lord, for being our strong tower and hiding us in the shadow of Your wings. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

About this Plan
"Hide Me" is Dante Bowe's “debut album” that reveals a mature sound and lyrics cultivated during a season of much prayer and rebuilding. Dante believes that raising the level of authenticity in music will cause cultures, generations, and denominations to unite in a worship movement by merging gaps and removing all boundaries. “The more I poured out my heart to God, the more He turned my words into praise. When I didn’t feel like rejoicing, I told God how I truly felt. His responses turned into music and revealed His wisdom, peace, and vision for the road ahead. He has been good to me. This album is an overflow from a deep well that never runs dry.“ 4-Day Prayer Guide By: Dante Bowe and Andrea Fisher
