DAY 5 OF 15

It seems as though, historically, sheep have gotten a bad reputation. In so many stories, we’ve been led to believe that sheep are less than intelligent. Sheep aren’t only pretty smart, but scientists also think that sheep are pretty emotionally aware. They’re able to communicate emotions to one another through the sounds they make. But even though sheep are smart, they’re still vulnerable. They have many natural predators, and unfortunately don’t have many ways they could potentially fight back against an attack. They’re in need of a shepherd. Not because they aren’t smart enough to defend themselves, but because they’re in need of someone to look out for them; to keep them safe from harm, and to protect them from the dangers around them.

As believers, we’re blessed to have Jesus as the ultimate shepherd. He doesn’t protect us because He thinks we aren’t smart enough to survive on our own. Jesus wants to protect us. He wants to shield us from harm. He wants us to know that we have a guide who can help keep us on the path we need to take to be led safely back home. Today, take the time to be grateful for the guidance and protection Jesus brings to our lives. Thank Him for the times you have seen His protection, and for the times when you may not have realized He was there.

About this Plan

Shift

A small shift can be enough to change your perspective. When we shift our perspective, we allow ourselves to see something in a whole new light. Many of us have a picture of what we want and expect Jesus Christ to be, but if we allow ourselves to shift our perspective, we can see a God who is so much more than we think.
