Acts: Go & Be Chapters 1-9ಮಾದರಿ
What is this passage saying?
Peter and John continue to proclaim the name of Jesus and they have now attracted the attention of the religious authorities. Upon hearing their message, Peter and John are thrown into prison. Persecution is starting to ramp up and we see God continually moving in the hearers of The Word, and the church grows to 5,000 believers. They are thrown in jail not because of their character, but because they were proclaiming Jesus. When they are released from jail the next day, many great rulers wonder how this miracle came to be. Peter makes it known that is Jesus Christ’s power that has healed the man, and only by His name can one be saved. The rulers continue to try to find fault with the apostles, but can find nothing, and are forced to let them go free.
What is this passage teaching?
We can see the persecution that is starting to happen in the early church, but their boldness doesn’t waver. They are filled with the power of The Holy Spirit and know the mission they have been sent on. Are you ridiculed as a Christian for proclaiming and representing the name of Jesus or because you are judgmental and lack character? Let the testimony of your heart be that of Jesus, and not of your own personal agenda. Even while Peter and John are being persecuted, they share the truth of the gospel with their opposers.
How do I respond?
Live a life worthy of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and share His good news with all.
