Impact and Influence

DAY 19 OF 21

Elimination = Expansion

Eliminate. That’s the word of the day. Frankly, it might be the word/theme of the year for a lot of us. Knowing what to embrace and what to eliminate is a crucial skill that anyone should possess, especially when you have been given influence to make an impact in the world.

How often do you take an inventory of your life to see what needs to go and what needs to stay? When we fail to do this regularly, we hoard things that don’t serve us any real purpose. The more you hoard, the less you have room for. Hoarding old and expired things clutters your space in a way that is not conducive for anything new.

Sometimes the clutter is hidden in your To-Do list with the tasks that consume your time but never lead to progress. Sometimes the clutter can be found in your relationships that you’re holding onto only because you don’t want to hurt their feelings by letting them go. When we do this, it is always at the expense of our growth.

Elimination often precedes expansion. What are you willing to remove in order to receive a new level of abundance? Arriving at the answer may require you to enter into a time of intense and deliberate prayer. Here’s a hack: the obvious thing is not the thing in need of elimination. You’re going to have to dig deep for this one. This decision will require discernment. Once it’s revealed what needs to be removed, trust that God will never ask you to rid your life of something if it wasn’t going to work for your good. It will pay off. The reward of elimination is expansion.

Prayer: God, in this season of expansion, open my eyes to the things that must be eliminated. Thank You in advance for the blessings that will be released as I make room to receive them. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
