Splendor Of The King

DAY 4 OF 5

Created To Flourish

Relationships aren’t always easy, but God is relational and so are we. They have their ups and downs. One minute, everything is okay, then words are said that offend, and tension enters the scene.

Sambo, the former child soldier had few possessions. His family had broken down, he had no relationship with Jesus, his neighbors despised him and he was addicted to alcohol. Money can't help these kinds of issues. He was languishing, and he needed a restored relationship with God.

At Tearfund, we see a lot of poverty. It’s easy to think of poverty as a lack of money and that’s certainly an aspect of it. But money is almost always a symptom of a bigger problem, broken relationships with God, ourselves and each other.

When God designed the world, he did so with a plan for humans to flourish with Him, that we would have a relationship not only with him but with ourselves and others.

We are not meant to be alone. We were created to flourish and that means living in right relationships, because it is within right relationships that we experience love and connection. We’ve been designed by God for a purpose and a plan.

Pray:

Thank you God for desiring big things for me. I ask you reveal your plans and purposes for me today. Amen.
