[Unseen Battle] the Battle Is Realಮಾದರಿ
In Heavenly Places
The spiritual battle is real. There is a war going on, no doubt about it. We can look around and understand we are engaged in a fight! Just take a moment to check the news for the insane instability of Russia, the unjust war in Ukraine, the partnership between Chinese President Xi and Russian President Vladimir Putin that seems odd, and the other crises that the world is currently experiencing.
Look at the war on terror, which many think is just about money and oil but is a religious holy war. Isaac and Ishmael are still very much in focus here. Will that enmity ever end?
Or look at the political battle on our home front, Republicans versus Democrats, right versus left. Some think we might see another civil war if the discourse doesn’t calm down. We’re in a battle.
And what about the culture wars on sexuality, racism, guns, abortion, and our borders? Or look at our wars of opinions. Do we trust science or not? Do we claim science until the science doesn’t work out for our agendas, ideas, or thoughts? Everyone has opinions. They’re like armpits, and most of them stink.
Many people are personally engaged in battles on gender, social media, religion, marriage, and family at home. Day in and day out, we’re engaged in a battle. While all these battles are legitimately real and happening, they’re just a symptom of a bigger battle.
If you have surrendered to Jesus and claim the name above every name, you need to align with Paul’s perspective when he wrote to the church in Ephesus: “We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12, ESV) This is the lens through which we see the world.
The real battle is in the heavenly places. All micro battles here on Earth are just a symptom of a macro battle.
Lord Jesus, please help me see You as my Commander in Chief and know that You have already won every battle I face. Amen.
About this Plan
We are involved in an unseen battle, whether we believe it or not. We have a real enemy who hates us. We have an opponent committed to stealing from us, killing us, and destroying us. His language is fear, isolation, and accusation. His currency is condemnation. We must watch out for the devil’s schemes because Scripture says our struggle is not against flesh and blood.
