Harvest Thanksgiving All Year Round!ಮಾದರಿ
BE THANKFUL FOR THE SMALL THINGS
Someone once said to me in jest, ‘if it costs more than a quarter, give thanks!” As I write this devotional, I can’t help but think of the scripture in I Thessalonians 5:18.
“In everything, give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
Even quarters add up to dollars. Ironically it is often the tiny things we end up treasuring the most.
• Think of that small child that would lovingly hand you a bouquet of dandelions with the biggest smile as you thanked them!
• Think of the hand-printed note you found tucked away in a drawer from a loved one that had since passed.
• Think of that stranger who stopped to assist you along the road.
• How about that unexpected call from a friend you hadn’t heard from in years?
• The morning hugs from a child or grandchild, or spouse.
• The paw on your arm from your pet that wants your attention.
Of course, these were just a few thoughts to get your memory to recall small things that mean a lot to you. If a person doesn’t take care of that old junk car, given in time of need, chances are they won’t take care of that brand-new car in years to come.
“He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.” Luke 16:10
I have often wondered if God tests us with a little to see how thankful we are. It takes us back to day one of this study. Remember the humble mother in Africa who gathered her children to sing songs of joy? Through our eyes, they have little; yet in their eyes, they felt the blessings of what they have and rejoiced in it. They have learned to harvest thanksgiving all year round! May we glean from what they have!
TODAY’S EXERCISE:
• Take time to expound on the list of little things that mean a lot to you.
• Remember it takes lots of little things to complete bigger things: the nails are just as crucial as the lumber that builds the house!
• The more you thank God and others, the easier it becomes.
• Purpose to ‘Harvest Thanksgiving all Year Long!”

About this Plan
I am amazed at the lessons we can learn from other cultures! Some seem to have less materially, yet they exude a deep sense of thanksgiving and joy! I don’t know about you, but I want thanksgiving and joy to be such a part of me that it is as easy as breathing! In this plan, we will discover how to make the season of thanksgiving a daily practice!
