Handling Life

The Bible is very clear that we’re just passing through because we have a greater purpose on the other side, and that’s eternity with Jesus. We are here to do God’s will, to reconcile people back to him, and to see this world touched by God. When did regular life start becoming overwhelming? Not to belittle the problems people are facing, but we can’t see those problems as larger than they really are. Sometimes it’s not an onslaught from hell. It’s just a broken dishwasher. We live in a fallen world, and trials are going to come. Jesus promised offenses and persecutions and trials would come. James says, rejoice when you face trials of many kinds. Tolerance and longsuffering are in short supply, but we have to learn to overcome this life. We have to learn to walk in victory through daily obstacles and disappointments. Every day, we face challenges and difficulties, but that is why we’re called to rejoice. We don’t get a testimony without a test.
