DAY 29 OF 365

Week 5, Day 1 Read Exodus 1-2 Exodus - Deliverance You see it in the news more and more often. Hurricanes put coastal communities under water. Wildfires leave behind charred paths of destruction. Tornadoes lift homes off of foundations and send them careening back to earth in pieces. Earthquakes, tsunamis, and countless other natural disasters spring up with little or no warning...and leave lives forever changed. You don’t even have to live in these devastated communities to see the impact. Go online or flip on the television, and pictures and videos are being posted or broadcast in real time. Billions of dollars in property damage. Homes lost, businesses destroyed. Countless injured, missing, or dead. It takes something pretty powerful to cause this kind of wreckage—whether gale-force winds or inferno-like temperatures. But the Book of Exodus details an even stronger Power—our omnipotent God. When His chosen people are in bondage, God works through Moses to unleash powerful plagues on the Egyptians—plagues that would make the natural disasters on the news today look like child’s play. You’ll continue to see the Father’s plan of redemption at work in the lives of His people — no longer a small family, but an entire nation! And then, when the Israelites are finally free in the Great Exodus, God demonstrates His sovereignty once again by sustaining over one million people as they travel across the desert. Plus, you’ll continue to see the Father’s plan for redemption at work in the lives of His people—no longer a small family, but an entire nation! Both God’s love and His law are on full display as He provides and protects while requiring obedience at the same time. Though man’s fear and lack of faith causes some setbacks—an entire generation misses out on the Promised Land—God is faithful. As you will see, nothing will hinder His plan.
