Displaying the Greatness of God in Your Lifeಮಾದರಿ
The topic of today’s reflection will require some serious prayer and thought. To really integrate your mission into your life, you must rank the three life-segments—personal life, family life, work life—in order of importance. This isn’t something you’ll do only once (though the first time will require the most discipline). This intentional ordering of importance will need special attention each time you change seasons in life. The ranking should always be 1) personal, 2) family, 3) work. Do not rearrange this hierarchy.
Then, we determine and live out guidelines to better integrate the segments. These personalized guidelines or policies address your wishes, wants, and mandates for each segment. As you determine yours, keep in mind the importance of interacting with Scripture and focusing on how you intend to glorify God in these large areas of everyday life.
Here are some broad, personalized statements I have written to express how I want to love God enough (passion) to bring HI’m glory (mission):
- Personal life—A joyful, dependent, growing walk with God, His people, and creation by regularly evaluating, correcting, planning, and implementing God’s will in all discernible areas of my life.
- Family life—A loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend in leading my family to spiritual and personal maturity.
- Work life—Promote Jesus Christ in the world as I give my best to multiple vocational roles and ministry gifts.
Write out your own personalized statement for each of the three large areas of life. If you write and live them out, you will be better able to grasp the weight of God’s glory in your life and live out your mission to bring Him glory.
