Peace of Mind: Back-to-School Reflections, Declarations, and Prayers

DAY 3 OF 3

You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You--in both inclination and character], Because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation]. Isaiah 26:3 (AMP)

Isaiah 26:3 draws attention to the power of trusting and taking refuge in God. To take refuge, we must be intentional about staying under a covering, house, or fortress. If we leave God’s covering, we will lose peace. It is easier to take refuge in a place when we trust that we will be protected. When we no longer trust someone, we don’t feel safe being with them. My brothers and sisters, God is the only one worthy of complete trust, and trusting God keeps us in a state of perfect and constant peace.

Let’s trust God to protect our children. When we let anxiety take over, we demonstrate trust in our limited human strength, resource, or system to protect our children.

Take a moment and read Isaiah 40:13-31 out loud if you can. Ponder these truths about your God:

Do you not know?

Have you not heard?

Has it not been told to you from the beginning?

Have you not understood since the earth was founded?

He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth,

and its people are like grasshoppers.

He stretches out the heavens like a canopy

and spreads them out like a tent to live in.

He brings princes to naught

and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing.

That’s your God!

My brain tingles whenever I read Isaiah 40:13-31. The God of peace is our God, Father, and Friend; let’s live conscious of who He is and our relationship with Him.
