Be Still: 15 More Days With God

DAY 14 OF 15

A WORSHIPER

Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face evermore! 1 CHRONICLES 16:11

The life of David in the Bible reveals many of the glories of Jesus Christ. David spent a significant amount of time during lonely moments as a shepherd of his father’s flock reflecting upon the works of the Lord in His life and giving Him the glory. He concluded the only trustworthy course was to seek the Lord diligently.

Proverbs 25:2 declares, “It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter.”

Do we properly evaluate all the things the Lord has done in our lives? Things happen that make no sense to us. The pagan world marks events up to “fate.” But as believers, we are called to be thankful in all things. How is this possible? David had great struggles quite out of his control—yet, he had confidence in the Lord when he sought Him with all his heart, remembering His works, covenant, and protection. These three things we also need to recall often.

Let’s seek Him to remember what He has done for us, especially His most significant work—the Cross. Let’s then discover that all the passing issues we face will weave into a perfect tapestry of God’s ultimate purpose for our good.

About this Plan

Be Still: 15 More Days With God

"Be still, and know that I am God;" (PSALM 46:10a). Many Christians are familiar with this verse, but do we really understand it? This exhortation applies when we are distracted by our successes, as when we are fearful and disquieted by some troublesome news. We must learn to quiet ourselves by opening God’s Word and gaining His perspective in both cases.
