Choose Your Future

DAY 5 OF 5

Choose Faith

Hebrews 11:27 “By faith, Moses left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw Him who is invisible.” (NIV, emphasis added)

Moses chose to live by faith, not by fear! Choose to live by faith and not by fear. Many people are living in fear. In his heart, Moses believed that there was something greater and he chose to walk by faith and not fear. Moses had every reason to be scared to death because Pharaoh was regarded as a god in Egypt, he had the power of life and death, literally. So, to take a position against Pharaoh was a death sentence and that was why Moses ran away. Living by faith sometimes means you have to run. We sometimes think that living by faith means staying and fighting Pharaoh. No! Moses could not fight Pharaoh at that time. Moses ran and God called it faith, not fear. Faith sometimes opens a door for you to reposition yourself so that you can be equipped to take on the ‘Pharaohs’ of this world.

Hebrews 11:6: “And it is impossible to please God without faith…”. You cannot please God by obeying His laws alone. You please God by faith, by putting your faith in Christ Jesus. What I am saying is that living in the light of eternity is the only antidote for all the pressures of life. Do not let fear define you, or shape your life. You can run by faith and run by fear; Moses ran by faith. He refused to let fear control him. What are you afraid of today? What are the things that are before you? Don't live by fear, choose to live by faith. Fear immobilizes: people want to take steps, but they can’t because they are afraid. What will the society say? What will my family say? You need to make a choice. Is it going to be based on fear or is it going to be based on faith? What is it going to be?

These life choices Moses made, make them yours. Don’t let the world define you. Don’t let the short-term pain ruin your long-term gains. Let God and His values be what propels you and kick fear out of your life.

Prayer: The Lord is for me, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me? (Psalm 118:6)
