Jesus - God Became Manಮಾದರಿ
Jesus, the Example
Man and woman were created in the image of God, sinless and perfect. When they disobeyed God, sin entered and the godly image of man was tarnished. We needed somebody without sin to show us the way. So God sent His only son Jesus to be an example, show us the truth, and also to be the sacrifice to remove sin from us.
Jesus came into this world to restore the lost relationship. When we start looking at Jesus as a God, we tend to move away from Him and believe we cannot follow His example. If we start looking at the human side of Jesus, we begin to identify our struggles with those that Jesus faced in this world.
He went through the same challenges we go through today. Popularity, jealousy, tempted to rule the world, compromising situations, spiritual challenges of hunger while fasting, etc. Jesus faced these challenges and gave us some practical doable solutions.
To those who choose to believe that Jesus is not the son of God, they miss out the way, the truth, and the life to eternal life. Till Jesus came, man only had rules which described how he could please God. Man never had an example of “whom” they could look up to follow. Living a life pleasing to God was impossible. Many teachers of Law had their own interpretations that the truth was getting lost.
Just as Jesus’ obedience, trust, and faith are shown in His taking human form, we need to show the same while following the example of Jesus. If Jesus did not come into this world, I will be lost, being satisfied with temporary pleasures, I try to be morally good without a yardstick. Jesus, our example, means He is the yardstick to see how we respond to life. So in this dark world Jesus is the light.
When we light a candle and place it in front of a source of light, the flame merges with the light. As a candle moves away from the source of light, to darker spots in the room, brighter is the light. The light of God is hope in this dark world. Just as Jesus is the light of the world, we need to reflect Jesus in our lives. Our lives need to follow the example of Jesus, so people can see Jesus through me.
