Your New Purpose, Calling, and Assignment

DAY 3 OF 3

Assignment

ASSIGNMENT: the “what” we do; a specified task or amount of work assigned or undertaken by God for the benefit of others; the vehicle by which we carry out our purpose and calling.

The assignment we have on our lives is the privilege we have to be an expression of God's goodness for the benefit of others. Our assignment utilizes our purpose (to bear His image and shine) and our calling (the gifts on our life) for the benefit of others.

Our assignments continually change and become bigger as we are faithful in offering our lives to others. Our lives are set up to meet the needs of others and to be their reward.

God is not a replicator or a duplicator; He is the Creator! He created each of us as an original for a specific time, place, and person. We are not everyone’s solution or answer. Some do not need our gifts and talents, and that is okay. God has somebody else specifically suited for them.

As we cultivate our relationship with God, we begin to take on the heart of God for others and gain clarity on the assignments He has given us. Each assignment bears the fruit of His nature and releases the reward of His Kingdom to others.

Ask the Lord to give you revelation, vision, and clarity on the specific time, place, and person He is calling you to.

Questions:

  1. What is the specific time, place, and person God is calling you to?
  2. Is there something that you feel God is calling you to step into, but you’re afraid of what it might entail?

About this Plan

Your New Purpose, Calling, and Assignment

Why are we alive? What is our God-given purpose, calling, and assignment? Throughout this study, we will dive deeper into: our Purpose (the WHY behind our new life), our Calling (the HOW we do it as we live out our new lives), and our Assignment (the WHAT we do as we surrender our lives to the leading of the Holy Spirit).
