Fruitful Faith

DAY 1 OF 5

FRUITFUL FAITH: TRUST

How many of us have prayed as Christians yet find it hard to believe until we receive the answers to our prayers? The word of God encourages us to trust even before we receive the answer. We must do several things to see our prayers come true, and the first thing is to believe.

Mark 11 says, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore, I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe…” (verse 22-24). The next verse says, “…that you receive them, and you will have them.” Pay attention to the word ''you will have them'. Let's believe that we have received the things we ask for.

There may be times when we start to doubt, but when it happens, let’s admit it honestly, just like a father of a demon-possessed child who said, ‘’ Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” (Mark 9:24). We must not allow doubt to come into our prayers. James 1:6-7 says, ‘’…. with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord."
