Finding My Way Home: A Journey to Discover Hope and a Life of Purposeಮಾದರಿ
We Can Trust God's Direction
If we truly believe God has a plan for us, we must trust Him. His timing and steps are crucial for the future and hope He has for us. The word “trust” can be kind of tricky.
Think about the chair or sofa beneath you. When you first went to sit down, did you doubt it would hold you? Probably not. You have sat in chairs your whole life, and you have learned they are trustworthy. Most of the time, anyway!
It’s the same way with God. We can learn to trust Him as we grow in our relationship with Him. We have the Bible, which demonstrates His faithfulness throughout thousands of years. We can learn from others who have walked with Him longer than us. What do they have to say about the consistency of God’s character?
However, it gets really fun when we try faith out for ourselves. There have been countless times when I have seen God come through for me and others. When I choose to trust and follow God, the reward goes beyond the answered prayer or given wisdom. I see the desired outcome, and, more importantly, my trust in God grows.
We can take Him at His Word and trust in His faithfulness. He never lies, tricks, or plays games. As we practice trusting, it will become more natural. Then, when we decide based on His direction and guidance, we can be confident in the result every time. It doesn’t mean it will be easy or that it will play out just like we think it will. But if we seek Him and trust Him through the process, we can be confident that He will be faithful to do what is good and pleasing to Him and good for us.
Think about a situation in which you need guidance or clarity. Ask God about it and then quiet yourself so He can guide you. Do you trust He will never let you down?
