Fasting and Prayer: 21-Day Challenge

DAY 13 OF 21

FOLLOW ALONG WITH OUR AUDIO VERSION OF TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL

A DEVOTED LIFE

READ

“Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.”—Philippians 2:12–13 (NIV)

REFLECT

To be devoted means to be committed and dedicated to someone or something. There’s no greater life we could possibly hope for and nothing more valuable we can live for than to live a life devoted to Jesus. What does that look like? It involves intentionally prioritizing our relationship with Him. How does your schedule currently reflect that?

Think and pray about ways you can draw closer to Jesus today.

PRAY

Father, I know it’s You who works in me to accomplish Your good purposes. I also understand that it’s You who changes me to be more like Your Son, Jesus. Lord, I pray I’ll have a renewed daily passion for knowing You even after this fasting journey ends. I pray that by Your Spirit, I would prioritize my relationship with You and make living in Your presence the devotion of my life. Amen.

FOR THE FAMILY

DISCUSS

  1. We know Jesus has saved us, so why is it important to obey God?
  2. How can you practice obedience today?

PRAY

Father, thank You for saving me! I know that because You have saved me, You call me to be obedient. My life has a new identity and a new purpose to live as Your child and become more like You every day. All I need to do is devote myself to a relationship with You! Help me to walk in obedience today. Amen.
