Overwhelmed, Praise God in the Middle of the Storm

DAY 3 OF 3

What Do My Colleagues See?

As popular Christian song lyrics say, “I don’t need my name in lights.” But, I do want to shine a light.

While I felt in the middle of a storm at my job, I’ve been diligent in leaning into God and not my own strength.

I’ve leaned into God to bring peace to work, not stress.

I’ve leaned into God with the aim of bringing praise and good words to work, not grumbling.

I’ve leaned into God to have calm at work, not short-tempered, easily offendable reactions.

What have my colleagues seen and how have they responded?

My colleagues have seen me prioritize self-care; colleagues taking notice asked, “Why do you look so nice today?”

My colleagues have seen me prioritize the health of my physical body to support my mental health. Now colleagues say, “We need to end this meeting on time so everyone can eat lunch.”

My colleagues have seen me give my full passion; with colleagues saying, “Your tireless pursuit deserves praise and recognition!”

I hope they’ve seen a glimpse of God, even if they don’t yet know it.

Key Takeaways:

•While in the middle of the storm, find reward by leaning into God

•Lean into God with praise music, daily devotions, and authentic conversational prayer - just talk to God!

•Let yourself be a lighthouse unto others in the middle of the storm

Prayer:

Father, thank You for being a lighthouse in the middle of my storms. As You are always a light in the darkness, may I be a light unto Your ways for others. Father, I pray that if it is Your will, You’ll use my actions, my words, and my energy to lead others closer and closer to You.

We hope this Plan encouraged you. Explore other resources from Eyes Wide Open.
