The Victory
On this journey of being a Jesus follower, spiritual battles seem to be a part of the terrain. If you’ve experienced such attacks or currently find yourself in a battle, see it for what it is. In today's verses, the Apostle Paul identifies that what is coming at you is not of flesh and blood but originates from evil spiritual forces. Try to see past the manifestation and distinguish the source.
Take it as a compliment that your enemy would engage you, as clearly you are on the right path and taking ground. Recognise that your heavenly Father, who is mighty in power, has allowed this only because He knows you have the strength to overcome. Put on the full armour of God and stand your ground. Be strong in Him, because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
This battle will come to an end, and you can find yourself on the other side, victorious, standing on higher ground. The battles you face and the victories you gain inspire those who are following you to do the same. Jesus said, ‘The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full’ (John 10:10 NIV).
