Worth More Than Rubiesಮಾದರಿ
A WOMAN OF DIGNITY
Proverbs 31:10 starts with the question, "An excellent wife who can find?" She’s far more precious than rubies. As rare and valuable as rubies are, this Proverbs 31 Woman is more. But does she know it?
The Proverbs 31 woman teaches how to live a life of dignity. To hold our heads high not because we are prideful in ourselves, but because we know Who made us. We trust that God made us valuable and called us to fulfill His purposes on earth as no one else can.
Imagine you’re holding a vase from the Dollar Tree. As you’re holding it, of course, you don’t want it to drop, but there’s no real pressure. Now imagine you’re holding a 400-year-old porcelain vase that’s appraised at 10 million dollars. Will you hold it the same way? Maybe you ensure you’re holding it with two hands instead of one. Maybe you’re a little more alert and focused on your task. Maybe you even go as far as telling others to be careful around you. The value of what you’re holding changes the entire way you carry yourself while holding it. Why? Because if it’s lost or broken, the cost is much more than a dollar. The Dollar Tree vase can easily be replaced. The relic cannot. There may only be one on earth like it, and in the same way, there is only one you.
It’s unfortunate because many ewomen have accepted being handled like the Dollar Tree vase. She’s accepted being treated as less than, dispensable, or replaceable. In actuality, she’s the relic. There is only one like you. Knit together in your mother’s womb by the intention of God (Psalm 139:13-14), and called to a specific purpose He made only for you to accomplish (Jeremiah 1:15).
Your being is invaluable, your presence priceless, and your voice needed because you are the only one of you the world will ever have. Even if the world doesn’t see that, you need to because God says so.
