Guardians Of Ancora Bible Plan: How To Talk With Godಮಾದರಿ
GREAT VARIETY
It’s all about our relationship with God. Sometimes we may like to be quiet and simply enjoy being in his presence, in the same way that we might have companionable silence with a close friend.
At other times we may want to talk with God, either silently or aloud. We can sing our prayers, write our prayers, read them from a book, or even draw, paint or sculpt our prayers.
We may pray on our own, or with others. Sometimes it’s helpful to pray in a larger group, perhaps during a service or a time of sung worship. We can also add our ‘Amen’ to the prayers of others, to show that we want to echo what has been said. Amen is a Latin word, which means, simply, ‘I agree.’
Whatever type of prayer we use and whatever style of praying we choose, what really matters is that we are in communication with God. Try it. Now.
TALKABOUT
If someone asked you to teach them to pray, how would you do that? What would you say?
TALKING WITH GOD TOGETHER
Say the ‘Lord’s Prayer,’ using words that are not familiar:
Our father God, you are holy and we praise you.
You are the king of heaven and earth.
Please give us the things we need today.
Forgive us for the wrong things we have done,
And help us to live in your way.
For you are great and powerful and glorious. Amen.
PLAYING GUARDIANS OF ANCORA
Switch on your device, go to the Spire and select the Bible Quest: ‘How to Talk with God’ (tap the ‘game-controller’ button). If you have several devices, play the game at the same time. Or watch each other play, in turn.
Have you completed the chapter? There are varied routes to travel, as you find Jesus’ followers trying out what he taught them. How many of them have you found?
As you play together and see what happens in the game, you’ll find many opportunities to chat naturally about God, the Bible and the stories of Jesus. What is your favourite part of this story or line of the prayer? Why?
Take what you have been discovering, through the game, into the rest of your family life. Check out the Family Hub on the Guardians of Ancora website for more family fun around the story ‘How to Talk with God.'
