Hope for School Teachers

DAY 1 OF 5

THE CALL

As a teacher, you face many challenges. Underappreciated, you deal with high pressure, low pay, and long hours. Yet, you chose this career because you have a love for teaching. Easier jobs don’t provide the satisfaction you gain from watching kids learn and grow in their academic pursuits. So, you press on.

Jesus himself was a teacher (Luke 13:10) and knows what you’re going through. Whether it feels this way or not, your job is a calling. It takes a special individual to fill the role of a teacher.

As a role model, your character must be above reproach. Paul the apostle knew this. In his letter to Titus, he wrote, “In your teaching show integrity, dignity, and sound speech that cannot be condemned…”

The world is filled with successful adults who can look back on their school days and still recall that special teacher that impacted their lives in a positive manner. The one who encouraged the hopeless equipped those stripped of opportunity and brought fortitude to those ready to give up.

You have a gift that can bring glory to God, and as 1 Peter 4:10 says, it must be used. God has given you a lot of power to make a lasting change in hundreds of individuals. With His help and hope, you can make a lasting impression in someone’s life today.
