7 Day Married Couple’s Connection Challengeಮಾದರಿ
We cannot love God if we do not know God. God calls us to love him not only with our heart but with our soul and mind. God wants us to intellectually know Him in our relationship with Him, which means knowing things about Him. What He likes, what He dislikes, His history, what He is like, etc.
Dr. Kim, president and founder of Awesome Marriage, says that one of the keys to an awesome marriage is being a student of your spouse. In the same way that we cannot love God if we do not know God, we also cannot love our spouse if we do not know them. This is why Dr. Kim says to be a student of your spouse.
The Bible verses we read today shows us several things about how God wants us to connect with our spouse:
That God made us to connect with one another
That the marriage connection is a sacred relationship and connection
Part of devoting your heart to someone is seeking them; it’s knowing them.
Have you been a good student of your spouse lately? Since our spouse is always changing, our job of studying them never ends.
Part of connecting well is knowing how your spouse wants to connect. Today you will ask some good questions to learn how you each prefer to connect.
Here’s your challenge: Together ask and answer these questions.
What makes you feel connected to me?
What do I currently do that makes you feel like we are best friends?
What could I do that I’m not already doing that would make you feel like we are best friends?
When do you feel closest to me? Why do you think that is?
What would your ideal date night be like?
What is your favorite part of connecting on a date?
How would you prefer us to connect in the morning? When we first see each other after work? In the evenings?
When do you have fun with me? What is the most fun thing you think we can do together?
How can I make sure I know you well? What do you need from me in order to feel safe and known?
