Biblical Success - A Few Laps in Romans 6,7,8

DAY 2 OF 6

Today we walk with Paul as he speaks of his struggles to obey the still small voice of the Spirit within him right after he reminds us in chapter 6 of our union with Jesus and how meaningful and powerful that is. Remember that he was the author of much of the New Testament and, based on that, we might think that our struggles and challenges would be foreign to him, but he reveals to us in verses 11-23 that is not true. Indeed Paul was a true spiritual giant but he was also a man. Paul lived as we do, two lives at the same time. One a life in the Spirit the other the life in the flesh. Our Lord was "tempted in all ways" as we are and so was Paul. Reread verses 11-23 slowly.

Can you identify with "the good I will to do, I do not do but the very evil I will not to do, that I practice"?

If it were possible to simply make one decision and never to sin, never get angry, or be selfish again, would you do it? Of course, we all would, but that isn't possible. Our life in Christ is a process not a project. How does Paul's testimony in chapter 6 encourage you?

What does to "reckon" ourselves mean to you?

About this Plan

Biblical Success - A Few Laps in Romans 6,7,8

Romans 6,7,8 combined are such a compelling portion of the powerful book of Romans, describing the basis and process of learning to walk in The Spirit of Jesus that we will soak in each of them twice in this study. We will allow the Word speak for itself reading each chapter and urging reflection on the deep meaning to be drawn from each chapter.
