Just Pray

DAY 1 OF 5

THE CALL TO PRAYER

In the Garden of Eden, we had direct communication with our Father. Once Adam and Eve were evicted due to sin, our perfect communication was severed. Nevertheless, God has never stopped desiring to be in fellowship with us!

Prayer is the path to intimate communion with Him once again! The thing is, God doesn’t need to talk to us; He wants to.

Psalm 103:14 tells us that “He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.” So we don’t need to be afraid to bear our all to Him, because the truth is that He already knows it ALL! Prayer helps us! God’s ability to receive our transparency unburdens us. It’s one of the ways He loves on us!

Throughout scripture there are examples of God inviting us to commune with Him, no matter the circumstances. It starts right in Genesis with God calling out to Adam and Eve immediately after they have just disobeyed Him and are hiding (Genesis 3:8-9). Then, as now, God knows exactly where we are and what we need: communication.

Our Creator has always wanted to communicate with us. His desire is to commune directly with us. Nothing is off limits. Choose to not do life without God. Answer God’s CALL TO PRAY.

Let's Go Bible!

In 1 King 19, God calls Elijah out of the cave to communicate about his emotional state after he wanted to quit ministry

In 1 Samuel 3, God calls Samuel in to communicate His plans for Eli’s family and also to communicate about Samuel’s next phase in life.

Reflections:

When is the last time you felt God calling you to PRAY?

Do you do all the talking or do you give God time to speak when praying?

About this Plan

Just Pray

We often encounter life’s challenges while ignoring one of the most powerful tools that we've been given—prayer. Prayer is the bedrock of any thriving Christian’s life. It is easily one of the most transformative habits that we can adopt. Without it, we settle for what the world offers, not securing the best of God's promises. Join Pastor John F. Hannah for a 5-day devotional highlighting the importance prayer.
