Faith Over Everything

DAY 4 OF 5

Faith AND Facts.

Often times we can be a bit hesitant, thinking we have to have everything figured out before we can bring it to God. We want the facts to line up and stack up so we feel good about approaching God. But God can multiply what you have, but you have to show up where you are and with what you have. The refining process isn’t something you do on your own and then you bring it to God for Him to bless. You start by bringing it to Him, and He refines it into something far greater than you could’ve ever done on your own.

The push and pull between facing the facts and having faith in God doesn’t have to create as much tension as we think if we simply bring it all to God. We can consider the facts and make our plans, but as Proverbs 16:9 says, the Lord establishes our steps. We can map out a game plan, but it’s God who solidifies what ends up happening. That doesn’t mean He comes in and takes over; it means He steps in and fills in the gaps.

We see this with David as he defeated Goliath and at the wedding in Cana where Jesus turned water into wine. David assessed the situation, considered his past experience, realized King Saul’s armor didn’t quite fit, and made his plans for how to move forward with his slingshot and the five smooth stones he picked up. He believed that God would do what only He could do to take it to the next level, and He did. At the wedding in Cana, plans were made but the wine ran out, so they obeyed what Jesus said and brought the water that they had, and He turned it into something greater.

When we do the best we can, given the circumstances we’re facing, God meets us. He puts His hand on what we have and miraculously extends it into a victory.

Don’t let the facts stop you from believing God can do greater things in your life, and don’t let the miracle you need stop you from moving with what you do have available to you. What can you do today to stand on the faithfulness of God?

About this Plan

Faith Over Everything

Having faith doesn’t mean that you ignore the facts. Having faith means acknowledging the reality of the circumstances but also believing that miracles can and will happen. Join Natalie Grant & Charlotte Gambill as they share how to trust God's authority and have faith in what He is doing above everything else.
