Bricklayers 5ಮಾದರಿ
In the last few verses of chapter 5, we see another example of what made Nehemiah a great leader. He wasn’t just determined, focused, and trustworthy. He was a man of great generosity.
Nehemiah didn’t let his duty to rebuild the wall in Jerusalem relieve him of the opportunity to be extremely generous with those around him. He could have excused himself from this responsibility because his work was so important. Or he could have easily let the opposition of his adversaries distract him from the needs of the people working with him.
Nehemiah chose to live a publicly selfless life that none could criticize. He made loans, but he kept in line with the Law of God. He did not lead with a greedy spirit but shared freely with many. He set a great example for those with the means to show compassion in a practical way on a daily basis.
What kind of example are you following? Who are the influencers in your life who consistently show you how to be generous? If no one comes to mind, you may want to rethink who you follow. What kind of leader are you? For the people who are watching you and following your example, what are they seeing? Do they see a life of great generosity?
