eKidz Devotional: All About Serviceಮಾದರಿ
Service = Love
Imagine it’s Friday afternoon and a friend just invited you to spend the night. You’re super excited; you run into the living room and ask your parents’ permission. Your mom says okay, but you have to clean your room first.
Just as you start cleaning your sibling walks by and asks, “How can I help you?” You and your sibling don’t always get along but today out-of-the-blue they stop and help, not because they have to, or were asked to but because they love you!
Before you know it, your room is spotless, and you’re heading to the sleepover.
Your sibling spotted a need and jumped in to help without asking. They did this because they love and care about you. Like your sibling, how can you be the first one to show others God’s love through service by asking, “How can I help?”.
In 1 John 4:7-11, Peter tells us to love one another just as God loved us. God didn’t wait for us to ask for His help. He knew we needed it, so He sent His son Jesus to help us! He did this because He loves us!
When we look for ways to serve others, we show God’s love to them. Service is God’s love in action!
Ask yourself: How can you be the first one to ask, “How can I help?” this week?
Challenge yourself: Look for opportunities to serve others. Help your dad take out the trash, your mom with the dishes or your sibling pick up their room.
Pray: God, thank You for loving us so much that You sent Your Son Jesus to save us. Please help me to find ways I can show Your love by serving others. In Jesus’ name, amen.

About this Plan
Service is more than doing something for others — it’s about doing it with the right attitude. In this four-day devotional, we’ll learn how we can love like Jesus through serving others. We'll explore Bible stories and listen to the eKidz family podcast, “Adventures Of The StarKeepers,” to help us apply these lessons to our lives.
