Freedom From Porn Begins Hereಮಾದರಿ
Day 8
The Addicted Brain
The theme for these next 7 days is "brain science." You are going to learn why the porn-addicted person can make such bad decisions and how dopamine and the prefrontal cortex play into that. You will understand why just trying harder doesn’t work. I will also teach you a powerful tool to build new pathways in your brain. All of this will equip you to renew your mind effectively.
Today’s Challenge:
- Watch The Addicted Brain video.
- Answer the questions.
Reflection Questions:
- What did you learn about the addicted brain?
- How does understanding the addicted brain help you understand what is happening when you are tempted to act out sexually?
- What is the balance between a person taking responsibility for their sin while at the same time recognizing the significance of an addicted brain in keeping them in bondage?
- Galatians 6:7-8 says, “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.” One of the results of sowing to the flesh is corruption. How does the addicted brain show the corruption of sowing to the flesh?
