A New Beginningಮಾದರಿ
I Need You, You Need Me, and We Need God
We were born with a desire to connect with others. When caregivers do not meet a child’s need for connection in early childhood, the brain becomes stressed, resulting in socio-emotional disorders/delays with lifelong impacts. The same concept applies as you begin this spiritual journey. God wants you to stay connected with fellow believers (Hebrews 10:25).
Exodus 17:11-13 (NLT) says: As long as Moses held up the staff in his hand, the Israelites had the advantage. But whenever he dropped his hand, the Amalekites gained the advantage. Moses’ arms soon became so tired he could no longer hold them up. So Aaron and Hur found a stone for him to sit on. Then they stood on each side of Moses, holding up his hands. So his hands held steady until sunset. As a result, Joshua overwhelmed the army of Amalek in battle.
God could have given Moses supernatural strength to hold up his staff throughout the fight, but He did not. God had revealed himself to Moses, used Moses to part the Red Sea, and made him a god to Pharaoh (Exodus 34:5; Exodus 14:26-29; Exodus 7:1). Yet, God made him depend on Aaron and Hur for the battle to be won. This means we will never get to a point in our walk with God where we will not need to fellowship with other believers.
Do you have someone who can pray with you, someone who can challenge you to trust and believe God for the impossible? Do you have someone who can be honest with you, someone whose words will come from a place of love for God and you? We all need to surround ourselves with God-fearing people. If you need a godly friend, you can ask God to send you friends that will help you grow in faith.
If you have been thinking about having a church family, you are thinking right. God wants you to go for it. You can trust God to lead you to a church where you can serve and grow spiritually.
I need you, you need me, and we need God. We should NEVER walk alone.
