LEAD WITH COMMUNITY
Knowing, understanding, and appreciating the value of community is very important in the kingdom of God. Hebrew 10: 24-25 says, “Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”
Community is what leaders and teams need.
In leadership, life can get lonely at times, and can be life-giving, or it can be life-taking to some. We must be leaders that are aware of what we need when we need it. At times, we need to find a safe, fun, encouraging, and life-giving community with no judgment. In the places that we are leading, we must create a safe place with no judgment. Those spaces can be such a place of refreshing for those we serve and for ourselves. A godly community is taking all of our leadership development and applying it in one space.
Community can save lives, draw relationships closer, and bring life and joy back into someone’s existence. As we grow in leadership, our desire is that no one does life alone. We should grow in being committed to being hospitable to others, no matter how many times we gather. It’s our job to take ownership in setting a healthy, loving, and healing environment, and for us to be in a healthy, loving, and healing environment.
Our environments should grow to follow 1 Corinthians 1:10 (AMP), “But I urge you, believers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you be in full agreement in what you say, and that there be no divisions or factions among you, but that you be perfectly united in your way of thinking and in your judgment [about matters of the faith].”
It’s important that we are not just leading for the sake of leading, but leading with unity and for our teams to be edified and grow in trust, faith, and love for each other.
Let us make a commitment to appreciate community, honor God, and allow the Holy Spirit to grow us in our leadership. Let us lead with community.
