Strengthen Your Marriage ಮಾದರಿ
Pray For Each Other
When we are looking for something to change, whether we’re in a tough spot and are looking for relief or we’re simply motivated to become more successful, one of the first things we look for is what we can do. We’re ready to spring into action. However, the absolute best thing you can do is stop and pray. Talk to God about whatever it is you’re looking for! The same is true in your marriage. If something is off, it’s harder than you thought it would be, your spouse isn’t doing what you want, and perhaps have kindly asked them to do, or you just know there’s more, the first and best place to turn to is the presence of God.
In Genesis 1:28, God blesses Adam and Eve and their unity, commanding them to be fruitful and multiply. While you might read this verse and immediately feel the pressure to perform and achieve these things in your marriage, what God is actually communicating here is His support. By definition, God is giving His favor and protection, not just to the unity of Adam and Eve, but to all unity in marriage. You may have your own ideas about who you chose to marry and what your marriage would be like, but once you said your vows, you stepped into something God designed. He doesn’t just think your marriage is a great idea, He loves it because it was His idea. And His command for you to be fruitful and multiply isn’t a weighty request that He puts on your shoulders, it’s what you can have as you live in the covenant of marriage. If you’re not seeing that in your marriage, for any reason, bring it to God!
Prayer is the most powerful tool we have, especially in marriage, because we know that when we pray according to the Word of God, He not only hears us but we have whatever we are asking for. If you want to see fruit and multiplication in your marriage, don’t look to the left or to the right (or to your spouse!), look to the One who designed your marriage, favors it, and protects it.
Think of one specific area in your marriage where you aren’t seeing fruit, regardless of why that is. Before bringing it up to your spouse, bring it to God and ask Him to set the wrong things right so that you will see what He has promised.
