Am I the Master’s Choice?

DAY 7 OF 7

Recognize and Reward

We work better with guidance and approval from our leaders − a mentor might guide us through a problem, a peer may extend a helping hand, some of our teammates may take on responsibilities beyond their call of duty and enable us to succeed. Without timely support from these people, we may not have been successful. They are the ‘Good Samaritans’, a divine help from above. These people deserve commendation for their part in ensuring our success.

Abraham’s servant, a staunch believer in his master’s God, prayed for success in identifying the bride of God’s choice. Who other than God can guide us in His will and purpose? He immediately bowed down in public and worshipped the Lord and thanked Him for His guidance. When Rebecca’s family consented to send her off to become the wife of Isaac, he again worshipped and thanked the Lord in public. He returned quickly to his master to report all that had happened and was never to be seen or heard of again in the Bible. What was his reward? The Lord faithfully kept a record of how the servant fulfilled the assignment.

The Lord will provide His guidance and help through various means as long as we depend on Him. Give glory to Him always and show thankfulness, in public and in time, to those who guided and helped you. What then is our reward for diligently and successfully doing our work? When we take care of the work entrusted to us, the Lord will take care of us. The Lord Himself is our reward!

On the last day of this calendar year, let us recollect the wonderful experiences God has allowed in our lives and all the people who have made a difference. Let us glorify God and say a ‘thank you’ prayer for each one and find ways to thank them in person.

Father, thank You for being my portion and my exceeding great reward. Thank You to my family and others who have been a blessing to me this year. Amen
