Don't Believe Your Eyesಮಾದರಿ
I love ice cream. I love my wife. I love riding motorcycles. I love my family.
Do you see the odd contrast there? They are so different, yet I use the word love to describe each one. Love seems so inadequate to describe what I feel for my family when I compare it to, say, ice cream.
So what is love?
Jesus exemplified love by dying on a cross for us. Even though we were sinners, He acted first and willingly died in our place so that we can have eternal life in fellowship with Him. He loves us unconditionally, without fault, and completely. When we mess up, He still loves us. When we feel broken, invisible, like a disaster or a failure, He still loves us more than we can comprehend. We can always know that His steadfast agape love will endure forever.
If you walk away from these devotions and immediately forget everything, or decide it’s not for you, I hope that, at the very least, you have one simple sentence that echoes in your brain.
I am loved.
