The Christ Centered Entrepreneur: A 3-Day Devotional ಮಾದರಿ
There are many good things about being an entrepreneur. I get to choose my own priorities, make my own decisions, and set a schedule perfectly suited to me. My job is flexible, portable, and usually lots of fun.
But, there’s a downside as well. Like me, entrepreneurs from all over the world report that working alone can feel scary, overwhelming, and downright hard. When the pressures mount and we don’t know where to turn, feelings of isolation and loneliness abound.
For you and me, as Christians, there is good news. We are not alone.
Even though we are entrepreneurs, we still have a CEO. He is not distant, above us, or isolated with a stern secretary guarding the door. He is the God of the entire universe and Emmanuel: God with you and me. He is our constant Companion, available to us every moment, and he has everything we need.
No matter the circumstance, no matter the need, he is always there:
· When we don’t know what decision to make . . .
· When our potential clients turn us down . . .
· When it is time to write that brilliant blog post, and we don’t have a word to say . . .
· When the bills are overdue . . .
· When technology overwhelms . . .
God is there.
Sometimes I think we should pull up an extra chair right next to our desks to remind us. He is really that close, willing and eager to engage with us throughout each and every day.
Imagine . . .
· how effective every action could be when it flows from his wisdom
· how much lighter our disappointments could feel when they’re wrapped with his love
· how our stress would melt away as he shares our burdens and makes them light
· how our confidence would grow as we walk with him moment by moment
The world we live in encourages us to be independent, self-made women and men, taking all the risk and responsibility and reaping all the glory.
We have a better way.
Some of the last words Jesus spoke to his disciples were these: “Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20).
Let’s pray today that God will retrain our brains, our habits, and our hearts to consciously engage with him all day, every day, so that our lives and businesses become saturated with him.
