Make That Break Thatಮಾದರಿ
As you contemplate the habits you need to form to improve the quality of your life, I encourage you to place your spiritual life at the top of that list. The good habits you could form to enhance your relationship with God are innumerable, and they encompass almost every aspect of your life. If you ever want God to be first in your life, you need to start making Him first right now.
If you are a Christian, you should read the Bible from cover to cover at least once in your life, preferably once a year. If you are a Christian, you need to spend some time alone with God on a regular basis (something we call “prayer”). If you are a Christian, you need to give, you need to serve, you need to talk to people about God, and you need to be as regular as possible in the house of the Lord. You need to spend time with people, encourage people, and get involved in people’s lives. You need to make your talents available to your church, you need to participate in a ministry outreach at home or abroad, and you need to do some tangible and practical things to show your appreciation and support for those who care for you spiritually.
The beautiful thing about the Christian life is that God loves us whether we do these things or not. He saves us by faith whether we do these things or not. But when we come to know Him and when we come to experience His forgiveness and His presence in our lives, our natural response should be to do things that are pleasing to Him and spiritually beneficial for ourselves.
Besides, the really amazing thing about the Christian life is that the closer we get to the Lord, the closer we want to get. The more we do for God and others instead of ourselves, the more we want to do. Nothing can change your life and put you in a position to experience God’s favor quite like honing habits that will build spiritual character in your soul and normalize positive Christian behaviors in your life.
