Our Victory Comes from Reliance on God
Isaiah 30:18
Therefore the LORD waits to be gracious to you, and therefore He exalts Himself to show mercy to you. For the LORD is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for Him.
Judah refused God and thought that they could gain victory by forming an alliance with Egypt to overcome Assyria. However, the Holy One of Israel told them that their victory comes from their repentance and full reliance on God. The victory would not be found in their military strategy but in turning to Him with all their heart.
Isaiah assured Judah that God would patiently show His compassion on them as long as they truly repent and turn to Him in trust, and it was not too late to experience His deliverance. He is a gracious God.
In your daily life, you might face some struggles at times. When you run on your own strength, you tend to have a lot of worries and fear about things that you cannot control. Your victory would only be found in resting and staying quietly in God. Your victory comes from reliance on God. He will give you a way out and He will give you victory.
Prayer
Dear God, may Your power and grace sustain me and lead me to rely on You more than on my own strength or other things that the world offers. Amen.
