Looking for Peace?

DAY 6 OF 7

I was looking for love in the wrong place... ❤️

Could the answer to peace in the world be a relationship with Jesus Christ? Could it be that most people look for peace in money, possessions, relationships, sex or power? I believe most people in our society will look everywhere else but avoid Jesus.

I’m reminded of the country-western song that Johnny Lee sang, “Lookin’ for Love”:

“I was lookin’ for love in all the wrong places, Lookin’ for love in too many faces.”

The world is looking for peace in all the wrong places. Many Christians I have counseled were looking for peace in success, the approval of others, religion, or even drugs. It seems ironic they accepted Christ but failed to accept Him as their source of peace. The Bible clearly promises that “the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7, NIV)

Notice the author introduces us to the “peace of God” as an emotional cure. I know you might be thinking, “Is this a real thing?” The answer is yes, yes, and yes.

Do you have the peace of Christ? Is it guarding your heart? The heart is the core of who you are. It can be broken, crushed, stressed, defiled, and polluted. It can also be pure, inspired, generous, and full of love. It is so important to guard your heart; otherwise, peace will be gone in a day.

I’m praying you will discover the peace of Christ and that it will guard your heart. I’m praying your heart will be full of love, compassion, and kindness.

Because you’re a miracle.

About this Plan

Looking for Peace?

Why would rest be listed in the second chapter of the Bible? Why would God give it as a commandment to Moses on Mount Sinai? Why is honoring the Sabbath listed in the Ten Commandments? In this reading plan, writer Paul Marc Goulet shares about this topic and how you can rest and find peace.
