Kings & Priests

Israel was chosen by God to be a group of people who chose the way of an image bearer, an example to the rest of the world of what true humanness was.

They were to be a kingdom of priests. A group of people who housed God's presence on earth. However, they reject this call and instead want to be ruled as the rest of the people around them were: by kings.

There are moments of hope though, like David's heart to give God's presence a permanent dwelling in the Temple and Solomon's completion of that Temple.
